This is just one of the reason’s I call people Dude and Chick.

This horrible memory is evident when looking for people on Facebook but in other areas this bad memory can be a good thing. I often don’t remember what I have blogged and when I go back to read I have so much fun reading what I had written.  I just noticed I’ve blogged something twice… Crap!

I guess I’ve always known my memory is bad and must be why I write things down. For example all the cute things Mini Red did that I wrote anywhere and I’m finding all over the place now.  I guess I should get a bit more organized with my notes.  I used to carry a little spiral pad of paper and I’m thinking I should do that again.

When it comes to movies I often forget the details.  Mini Red and I just sat down to watch “Head over Heels”.  I knew it was a cute movie but as it went on I realized I couldn’t remember what happened.  So it was like I was watching it for the first time.  I’m my own movie critic… I know it’s a cute movie but I don’t really remember it so why not sit down and enjoy it again?

I can’t tell you how many books I’ve read that become movies.  I never remember the end and comparing the book to the movie is just not happening most of the time unless I read the book just before the movie came out.

I do remember faces though.  Often I see someone familiar and can’t place them or remember their names.  This happened a lot when I was on Match.  I then realized where I’ve seen them and their Match picture pops in my head.  This is why I rarely approach a familiar face.

So if you see me on the street, stop me and say, “Hi” because I, most likely, won’t stop you.

This morning as I’m working, and Mini Red is sleeping in, I decide to watch it.  Then I watched it again. Well, that is until Mini Red woke up.

I can’t help but think this movie can speak to so many plus the soundtrack is AMAZING!

It has been a quiet few days except of course for the wrestling and except for when Mini Red and I watched this one scene today.  We were literally screaming it was so disgusting. 

Guess what? I’m going to share it with you.

I have been wanting to see this movie for a while but knew there was a chance it could end up being just horrible.  Well, the movie is not horrible.  It’s my new inspirational movie mixed with some hilarious scenes. Oh and gross scenes too!

What was that movie with Kathy Bates and James Caan?  He was a writer, stranded in the snow with her, his biggest fan.  In one scene she decides she must do the unthinkable to keep him there with her. So she places a HUGE block of wood between his ankles and takes a HUGE sledgehammer…  Well, I think you all remember that.  I never did and never will watch that scene… I just can’t.

My new inspirational movie is “Run Fat Boy Run“.  Just effing funny as all get out.  Then there was this scene.  Mini Red and I were hollering and screaming.  I told her to watch and tell me what happened. The neighbors probably thought we were watching a game because we probably sounded like them.

Ok you have to watch this.  It might take you a few tries but well worth it.  It’s probably better if you watch the entire flick but this will suffice on short notice.

She has become quite a worthy opponent even though I explained that she needs to, realistically, let me win a little because I’m old.  Thus if I feel I can win, a little, I would be more willing to engage in the wrestling arena with her since I would still feel that I have somewhat of an upper edge and a chance to win.  Seriously, who would engage in such wrestling if you know you would lose.  Well, I guess Mini Red does but at least she has the knowledge that as she grows she also gains an upper hand and ultimately can overtake Mom.

Brotha-Man and I would wrestle with Dad.  I’ll never forget the day we won and became “KINGS OF THE HILL” because we were finally strong enough to beat Dad. We never wrestled again.

Anyhow… So we stopped mid wrestle to see my favorite part of Elf where Zooey Deschanel sings “Baby It’s Cold Outside”.  This woman has an amazing voice.

We’ve gotten in our comfy clothes and mulling around finishing things up for the evening.  As we are settling down Mini Red turned on the movie Emma, based on the book of the same title by Jane Austin.

Now I know some of you guys are going “Uggggggggh chick flick.  I’d rather have a fork stuck in my eyeball.”.  But wait because this movie is hilarious.

This story is about a chick who loves playing matchmaker and she is so far off kilter it’s funny.  She picks wrong for everyone and doesn’t see any of the coupling that happens until they actually happen, even her own.

There is some definite bitchiness between the characters, even the men.  The best part is Mini Red and I will talk all proper, like them, for the rest of the evening.

For any of you that have some aversion to these types of books then I suggest you try them again because these are some great stories.  Some have even been modernized such as Clueless, which is based on Emma.

If you don’t want to start with Emma then might I suggest Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare.  Maybe you heard of him?  Kenneth Branagh brought in some BIG names to play in his screen adaptation. 

Ok so maybe Emma is a chick flick but Mr. Knightly is HOT!  His hottness cannot be denied.
