Email I got from Mom today:

Quote of the day:
“Whatever you give a woman, she will make greater. If you give her sperm, she’ll give you a baby. If you give her a house, she’ll give you a home. If you give her groceries, she’ll give you a meal. If you give her a smile, she’ll give you her heart. She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her. So, if you give her any crap, be ready to receive a ton of shit.”

Love it! The Author… Unknown, a/k/a Anonymous, has a lot of great quotes.

I checked out a few things on You Tube.
First I had heard of this little chick who wowed Simon Cowell and finally remembered to check it out:
Then is searching other songs she has sung I was reminded of this next song. Did you know Robert Downey Jr. Sings?
Love it!

So… If you ended up on the Actors Guild and were interviewed by James Lipton the questions might go a little something like this:
What is your favorite word? Otolaryngology. It means ENT Doctor but the word is fun to say. You almost automatically yodel it. Go ahead you know you want to try it. I also like GUI (Graphical User Interface) because I am a geek not yet a nerd.
What is your least favorite word? Can’t think of any. I find most words fascinating for one reason or another unless it is used in some form to be mean or hurtful to someone.
What turns you on creatively, spiritually, emotionally? Music, Art, Photography and the people that have such amazing talent to create it all and share it with us.
What turns you off? Dishonesty, selfish people, feeling fat.
What sound do you love? Ocean waves, good music, when Mini Red says “I love you Mom“
What sound do you hate? When cars crash, or when anything crashes for that matter. Sometimes even the dishes hitting each other a little too hard makes me wince.
What is your favorite curse word? Poop! You can get your aggravation out and make people laugh all with one word.
What profession other than yours would you like to attempt? Graphic Designer or working on my own sitcom which would be titled “Life of Red“, of course.
What profession would you not like to do? Primary School Teacher, Pooper scooper, Nurse. I have so much admiration for Teachers but I would suck at it, poop smells and again I have admiration for Nurses but they deal with some gross stuff… Like poop.
If heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the pearly gates? I knew you’d make it! Glad to have you.
Still Having Fun!

I was recently found on Facebook by a young’un I met years ago at a friend’s wedding in Massachusetts. We were the only single people at the wedding and I think the groom pointed me out and encouraged him to hit on me even though he is at least 10 years younger than I. He’s quite the studly fellow with a brain to boot, which is evident by his degree from MIT.
Now you know how it goes when you find someone on Facebook… The first thing you do is check out all their photos and then you exchange a few emails.
The email I got today had me cracking up when he said, ” I love that half your photos are with 20-something guys–seems like you’re still having fun!”
Of course!
I Got a Bit O the Freak Out Going on Here

in House
There is just so much lately.
I am now on the team that is going to the conference in Vegas the beginning of February. It’s exciting and the company is paying but you know its gonna cost me too! Normally I wouldn’t be too concerned about that but at the end of this week I’m moving… Into a HOUSE!!! This is very exciting but it will be several hundred more a month and now I will have utilities to pay.
Mini Red will be finally learning how to take a quicker shower because not only will we have only one bathroom but I have to pay the water, gas and electric that will pay for her showers. Things are getting tight for us … But wait there’s more…
It all very exciting but the money part is freaking me out a bit tonight because, after much research and visiting many stores, I bought an all new entertainment system for the new living room. I have a 40″ tube TV already but since I will have movers this week I will have them move that in the basement. Otherwise I don’t know how it will ever get down there because it is incredibly heavy. The basement will have my office as well as the Rec Room. Mini Red‘s Dad asked what we are gonna call the Rec Room. His is called “The Bunker” and Brotha-Man has “The Man Room” with it’s Masters Green walls. Mini Red promptly came up with the perfect name after watching the movie “Reality Bites“. It will be called “The Maxi Pad“. How perfect is that?
Sorry I digressed. So tonight I ended up purchasing a 46″ 1080p LCD HDTV, a DVD surround sound system with speakers and iPod docking station. Plus a TV HD Media Player for USB Storage Devices. I can’t wait to get it all set up but I need to get the In Debt part outta my head first. I don’t think that will happen until it all gets set up on Friday.
Dad seems excited about it and is impressed with the price I got. I can’t wait to show Brotha-Man on Saturday. Brotha Man and The King will be coming on Saturday to help move anything else that is left. I’m thinking I’ll leave a few shoes boxes for The King to carry. He’s 18 months and I can’t help but think how cute that will be.
So I’m kinda broke at this point. There won’t be much going out at least in the next few months except, of course, Vegas. As a single chick the only boys I’ll be meeting will be the Jehovahs Witness or the Mormons that might be knocking on my door trying to save me.

It was a Match Moment

I hate to admit it but I have had moments of perusing Match lately debating if it’s something I want to do again. Not really sure it is.
Anyhow… I was out to lunch with some co-workers today at Chili’s in Reston. I noticed this guy who looked familiar but I wasn’t sure why. Remember my last post about the bad memory? Suddenly his Match photo popped into my head.
At least VHMPrincess knew what I was talking about when I told her I was having a Match Moment.
Memories, Like the corners of my mind…

I have a horrible memory.
This is just one of the reason’s I call people Dude and Chick.
This horrible memory is evident when looking for people on Facebook but in other areas this bad memory can be a good thing. I often don’t remember what I have blogged and when I go back to read I have so much fun reading what I had written. I just noticed I’ve blogged something twice… Crap!
I guess I’ve always known my memory is bad and must be why I write things down. For example all the cute things Mini Red did that I wrote anywhere and I’m finding all over the place now. I guess I should get a bit more organized with my notes. I used to carry a little spiral pad of paper and I’m thinking I should do that again.
When it comes to movies I often forget the details. Mini Red and I just sat down to watch “Head over Heels”. I knew it was a cute movie but as it went on I realized I couldn’t remember what happened. So it was like I was watching it for the first time. I’m my own movie critic… I know it’s a cute movie but I don’t really remember it so why not sit down and enjoy it again?
I can’t tell you how many books I’ve read that become movies. I never remember the end and comparing the book to the movie is just not happening most of the time unless I read the book just before the movie came out.
I do remember faces though. Often I see someone familiar and can’t place them or remember their names. This happened a lot when I was on Match. I then realized where I’ve seen them and their Match picture pops in my head. This is why I rarely approach a familiar face.
So if you see me on the street, stop me and say, “Hi” because I, most likely, won’t stop you.
Now that the holidays are over we can breathe a sigh of relief and welcome 2009

The holidays have come and gone… Thank goodness.
I spent Christmas week sick as a dawg. Started with a cold and by the Christmas Eve I couldn’t keep much down. I felt so bad that during the annual Family Christmas Eve Party I went and took a nap. The Family got up at the crack of dawn for 7:30 Mass but decided to leave me be. Yeah I wasn’t doing too well but when I did get up I felt better than I did the day before.
Mom said it was gonna be low key this year and not as many gifts… Yeah right! That woman is off the hook and honestly, I don’t know how she does it all.
Mini Red had a blast especially when she walked in the room to find the keyboard she has been DYING for.

By Sunday I was feeling better and able to eat. Mini Red‘s Dad brought her home. I was a little shocked to see what she was wearing. Her Dad had previously agreed with me that the Goth look wasn’t for her but that seems to be all he bought her. Everything was black with skulls. Now don’t get me wrong I’m not against the skulls but when combined with all the black it’s so unappealing. Oh and the shirt she was wearing… Horrible!

Mini Red and I ran out to do some errands and ended up at Sushi Damo. It was pretty warm that day but I had to have Mini Red zip up her jacket because the Joker was staring at me and it was unnerving. I think her Dad does it to piss me off and it’s working. When I mentioned all the black and skulls he bought her he pointed out the shoes I got her. Well, the shoes are cool but that is the ONLY thing I got her with skulls. Converse allows you to design your own shoes so that’s what I had Mini Red do and she even personalized them!

We brought the New Year in quietly while packing. I’m looking forward to 2009 especially with moving into a house. 2008 had it’s ups and downs which started with a new job and a horrible cold. I experienced kidney stones, finding wonderful people, a conference in Orlando, the Big 40 and a long awaited, beautiful wedding in Chicago. I learned a lot in 2008 and realized how much is beyond my control and to just let it go. Several people left my life, not due to death but for their own reasons, some unbeknownst to me and some ridiculous. All were people I knew for a very long time but I’m ok with it.
2009 has many promises… Some good and some bad but I’m ready for it. Just giving Mini Red a home soars above anything else. My upcoming work trip to Vegas helps too but the promise of coming back from that in time to spend Valentine’s Day alone is a small annoyance to get past. Just thinking about this year is exciting… Brotha-Man and SIL just had their second child, a little girl… Awwww. Then there’s the wedding in June…Sis and Viper are getting married.
I hope the new year brings nothing but goodness for all of you reading. I can’t wait to see what 2009 brings but it’s greeted with a new me to face any challenges that may come and I welcome them.
